This Saturday on 8th September 2018 the outdoor area at the Bio-Seehotel will once again be the venue for a sports highlight, the Vogtland Challenge 2018.
Special suspense promises the final race of the XTERRA German Tour at the 5th edition of the Challenge. In the competition XTERRA Vogtland, which starts at 11:10 am, this years tor winners will be decided. Both the leaders of the women’s and men’s standings are registered for the Vogtland Challenge and have the decision in their own hands. For men, the current leader in the overall classification, Thomas Kerner from TV Burglengenfeld, faces the competition. He is hunted amongst others by the current runner-up Torsten Pawel from Dresden and the German champion Jens Roth, who goes into the race as favorite. Even in the women overall ranking everything is still open. Frauke Kielblock from the club Nonplusultra Esslingen is currently leading the tournament. But Maria Döring and Sandra Eifler, who also take part in the race, still have all chances to win the Tour with a good placement at the Challenge.
Before the final XTERRA race, the individual starters and teams in the competitions Vogtland-light and Vogtland-classic start their races. The entry distance starts at 9:20 am and one hour later the participants in the Vogtland-classic. Overall, the organizers expect a field of about 200 starters. For last-minute participants, a late registration is also possible for the event. The registration office is open on Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on the competition day starting from 7:00 am.
Everyone is invited to experience the Vogtland Challenge live and to support the athletes on the tracks.
